The Naked Recruiter

Recruitment Hack #63 - Create A Niche LinkedIn Group

Create a group on LinkedIn

Groups on LinkedIn are forgotten about, but they can be an excellent way of creating a dedicated audience that you can use throughout your recruitment career even when you move on from your current company. Why? Because you’re able to get a bunch of like-minded people together in one place and own that space.

This is a bit of a golden opportunity.

So what you want to do is you want to create a very specific group to the type of people you are recruiting and then invite all the contacts that you have, and through social media sharing platforms like Hootsuite, send specific updates that they will find useful week in, week out.

And over time, it will build, grow and take on a life of its own.

So for example, if you recruit Java developers in Manchester, call it Java Manchester or something like that. Then just keep inviting them, and over time, it becomes your own little community.

People will share stuff with the group and it becomes essentially like a little haven where other recruiters can’t spam your best contacts.
